NIHR receives a Delegation of the Palestinian Legislative Council
Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) HE Mr. Saeed bin Mohamed Al-Faihani received at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef District HE Mr. Azzam Najib Al-Ahmad, Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian Legislative Council, in the presence of HE Mr. Taha Mohamed Abdul-Qadir, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Bahrain and his accompanying delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, NIHR’s Chairperson welcomed the visiting Delegation. Then, he reviewed NIHR’s nature of work and missions as well as its role in the enhancement and protection of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, highlighting its most prominent achievements at national and international levels.
HE also stressed NIHR’s full solidarity with all Palestinian human rights issues as well as its support for the issues of Palestinian prisoners in general and the issue of Marwan Al-Barghouthi, dean of prisoners, in particular.
For his part, HE Mr. Azzam Najib Al-Ahmad, Deputy Chairman of the Palestinian Legislative Council, indicated the role of the Palestinian National Council and its activities in various issues, especially those related to human rights, and expressed his readiness to provide all means of support for the NIHR to be able to fulfill its tasks.
The two sides agreed on the need to strengthen cooperation between them, which is important to support efforts to achieve common goals.
